Lyndon B Johnson Signed Note on US Senate Stationary
Item #: NEW-0013290

This short note was addressed to his friend and his Party Whip, Percy Priest of Tennessee.  In light red pencil at the top right hand corner reads "personal" ( I think).  I feel confident that this is his actual signature which is simply Lyndon.

1917 LS-Teddy Roosevelt-Interesting Content
Item #: NEW-0013106

The condition on this letter is not great with folds, stains, crumpling, and a couple of tiny edge tears.  The letter is typed of the letterhead of Metropolitan, NYC, from the office of Theodore Roosevelt.  Here is the brief content:

"My dear Mr Barnes:

That's a mighty nice letter of yours.  Indeed, it would have been a pleasure to include you in my division if the President had permitted me to raise it."  Signed T Roosevelt.  The back story of this content is what makes this interesting.

The following information is from the article in Wikipedia, Roosevelt's World War I volunteers:

"In his book Foes of Our Own Household (1917), Roosevelt says that he had authorization from Congress to raise four divisions to fight in France."  He had actually selected eighteen officer and directed them to actively recruit volunteer troops shortly after the US entered the war.  Wilson ultimately rejected Roosevelt's plan and the volunteer Army disbanded.

1969-Autographed Program-Ronald Reagan-Nancy Reagan-Barry Goldwater
Item #: NEW-0011182

This program for a reception that was held in honor of the Governors of the States and Special Distinguished Guests given by the Inaugural Committee in 1969.  The program measures 9 and a half by six and a half inches.  I love these kind of autographed items that you don't have to worry that they be auto pens, secretarial or printed signatures.  Two of the signatures may see faint in the scan but aren't.

John F Kennedy- Signed Campaign Booklet+
Item #: NEW-0010958

Three items in this lot that I purchased in 1990 from the woman who obtained John F Kennedy's signature during the West Virginia primary appearances.  Also included are two letters addressed to the woman, one with his portrait which undoubtedly are auto pen signatures.  Stain at the top on the portrait lettersheet.  There is a large crease on the Time for Greatness pamphlet.  Kennedy's true signature consisted of chicken scratching and particularly when he was making personal appearances.  Please view the scan. No paypal on this item.

Gerald Ford's Autograph on Campaign Material
Item #: NEW-007867

Gerald Ford autographed item on a campaign item when he was running for President. Of course, it would qualify as a Presidential signature since he was President when he was running for his own term. This is a card which measures 7 by 4 inches. The autograph was made with a Sharpie pen which has lightly bled though on the other side, which also has a campaign message. I did not obtain this autograph but will stand behind it as being authentic.

Herbert Hoover Signed White House Card
Item #: NEW-007864

I found this autographed White House card in a scrap book from a Nashville estate. I believe this is genuine. Hoover did not use an autopen and it does not appear to have been printed. Note the stain or worn area on the left hand side of the card. There is a similar worn area on the back when it was removed from the album.

Rare 1826 Check-Bank of Tennessee-Andrew Jackson
Item #: NEW-005546

There can't be many of these around. This check is dated May 6, 1826 and is from the Branch Bank of the State of Tennessee at Nashville. Three hundred dollars. Bold signature of Andrew Jackson. Check has condition problems as can be seen in the scan. X cancel and staining. The white area at the top right hand side is the check itself and has not been repaired. The check has been handled in an archival manner and backed on archival boards. The check in loose within the little brown mat. There is also a tear at the bottom which goes to the squiggly line but it is not that noticeable. I bought this check 15 years ago from a prominent Andrew Jackson collector. It was displayed in an exhibition at the Tennessee State Museum. No paypal on this item but can make arrangements for payment.
